Key responsibilities and accountabilities

Perform office calculations and field data preparation.

  • Process field data and manage quality assurance and control checks.
  • Help manage and track project requirements.
  • Prepare weekly construction project reports.
  • Have a strong knowledge of Microsoft products, Trimble Business Centre (TBC) and Microsurvey.

What you require:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience a primary focus on data processing
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and rewarding atmosphere
  • Strong computer skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Work in a team environment
  • Strong technical skills to interpret, manipulate and analyze survey data and field notes
  • Knowledge of Trimble Business Center (TBC) is considered an asset
  • A post-secondary degree, diploma, or certification from a recognized post-secondary institution in a program with a survey or geomatics focus or equivalent data processing and calculations experience

  • Managing and performing field survey duties.
  • Training and mentoring survey assistants.
  • Experience in Legal Surveys and Construction.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Project Managers and Site Supervisors.
  • Prepare field notes, sketches and digital survey data for office submission.
  • Perform field survey calculations.
  • Valid driver’s license and willing to travel and on projects at various locations across Alberta.
  • Have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

What you require:

  • Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certification from a recognized post-secondary institution in a program with a survey or geomatics focus or equivalent legal and construction surveying experience

  • Utilizing AutoCAD to calculate and draft Legal and Construction Survey Plans.
  • Produce detailed and concise drawings and layout plans with technical accuracy.
  • Interpret information from preliminary data, field notes, sketches and GNSS/Total Station data to create accurate survey plans.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD programming and the creation of LISP routines would be an asset.
  • Understand importance of QA/QC checklists and procedures with respect to CAD deliverables and LTO/ESRD submissions.
  • Participate in the development of CAD templates and styles including CAD Standards & Procedures.
  • Have a strong knowledge in AutoCAD products such as AutoCAD Map and civil 3D.
  • Have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products and knowledge of MicroSurvey would be an asset.

What you require:

  • Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certification from a recognized post-secondary institution in a program with a survey or geomatics focus
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the geomatics field with a primary focus on Legal and Construction drafting
