Before working at Valard Geomatics, what was the most unusual job you’ve every had?
For a time, my dad was running a print shop and he had purchased a large format plotter…from China. I had to rig a really old computer to send plots to it because it was using a really old interface standard that hadn’t been used since the 90’s. The ink had to be siphoned in from barrels, the nozzles had to be manually aligned each time. I could go on about how much I hated that machine.
What has been your favourite project at Valard Geomatics?
I think the sticky note on my desk from Dave has claimed me in the name of WFMAC…
What advice would you give to prospective Valard Geomatics candidates?
I hope you have a good sense of humor, because pranks are often afoot.
If you could meet anyone in the world dead or alive who would it be?
Bruce Lee – it would be amazing to be able to get some insight into the person who perhaps was the first famous Chinese figure in the Western world, what motivated him, and so on.
